31 Jan La Tejera. Palencia
La Tejera is an old factory located in Palencia. Archiologics has lead the process to develop the execution project to refurbish the old abandoned factory and became the new centre for conventions and events of Palencia. To recreate the existing conditions, a 3D scanning process has been developed trying to minimize errors and simulate the existing geometry with a point cloud model. After that, Archiologics has created a BIM Model that coordinates all the different agents that take part in this process establishing a relation from the physical world to the digital and vice-versa.
The project incorporates a new use in the old factory of Palencia maintaining the identity of the existing by reusing materials and using local resources in a different way. La Tejera purposes a different way of looking at Palencia’s past, turning it into an active agent of the present.
